If you think Yosemite is expensive for the entry fee, you should come here. It is $9 per person per day or $17.50 per 'family' (two or more). So, it ended up being cheaper for us to buy an annual pass for $125 than by the day. Anyone want to buy our pass off us when we get back? We've seen lots of wild flora, but cyclistrick is bummed at the lack of big game so far.
We had some nice 'summer' conditions for our hike in the Opal Hills yesterday.
Eventually, the skies cleared a little on the way back to Jasper town and we got this great shot of Medicine Lake.

thanks all! Yeah, Medicine Lake was quite beautiful yesterday. And, apparently it is empty later in the season, because it has a large leak at the bottom that goes to an underground river. So, once the snow melt and rain are done, the lake disappears.
panda - I did have some warm socks - smartwool! And, my shoes have Gore Tex for the fabric. So, my feet were toasty warm. Right after we took that photo, it started snowing/snaining pretty good, so we had to put on our jackets for the hike back down the mountain.
I was up there about 13 years ago. It is spectacular. You two are lucky!
