back home, too much work to do, miss my honey

We got back around Midnight on Monday night after a harrowing ride in a sardine-can Cal Train with 1,200 Giants fans and 5 or 6 other weary travelers. Up at 6:00 am headed to work. Barely got through my email, attended 1 meeting and finished 1 help ticket before the end of the day. Then it was off to sprintervals in Fremont, which was great. It was a good way to whip my body (but not too hard) back into high-intensity after the long break.

Phew!

This morning when I got up I realized how much I missed my honey. After 15 days of nearly 24x7, it's hard to go back to little snippets of him in the morning and evening. I tried to convince him we should call in sick and lay around in bed all day as we were getting ready to go. He seemed tempted, but the sense of duty eventually propelled us both to our respective offices.

I guess I have to look forward to Maui in the winter after I graduate.

Maui? Is that when we do the 3 rides (up and down Haleakala, west loop, east loop) all in 24-hours? Alright, let's go!

cyclistrick, you are smoking crack! We will do those rides over 3 days, not in 24 hours.

You can always kidnap cyclistrick.

Maui? Now you are talking. That place is fantastic. And not so far for you west coasters.

Maui? Wow, I could go for Maui right now...

That's sweet about missing your honey. I thought Mr. Man would be ready to kill me when we got back from vacation, but then when I went away for one weekend day he got all sappy. I love vacations :).

chris - kidnapping! I hadn't thought of that. Cyclistrick, you better watch over your shoulder when going downstairs to the falafel place at work. A lime green Honda Element may drive up and swallow you whole!

panda - you and Mr. Man were glowing in your pics...I can tell he wasn't sick of you - quite the opposite, actually. Yay for vacations and happy couple time :)

chris - the three loops in one day has been a joke I have had with Ms. C. since we saw an article in Adventure Cyclist on the 3 loops. If you follow the link above and go to page 3, there is a side-bar about a couple who did the 1 day sufferfest in 2003. Bring on the pain!
