More Hawaii Pix as promised
Well, I was going to post this little slide show last week, but then my service provider did the major meltdown on my site. Fortunately, things seem to have stabilized now.

Holy crap, Sarah. You all were the same places I was just days before (I left the Big Island on 10/18). How funny!!!
Did the rules change though? I thought people weren't supposed to walk onto the beach or Capt. Cook monument due to the coral?

Cool! We must have passed over the Pacific. As for the monument - it is a marine sanctuary, but there aren't really any officials around to enforce anything. We did it all legal-like and took one of the sanctioned boats out. But, lots of folks don't seem to get the whole preservation of the coral thing. Fortunately, Captain Cook gets deep fast, so they can't damage too much. Sigh.

Sigh. How beautiful. Gorgeous pix.
But, I think that poor sea turtle was struggling up the beach, exhausted, going to lay her eggs. I believe it's the only time they leave the sea.
jackie - Thanks! Yes, I thought they only left to lay eggs, too. But, at this one beach there was a constant stream of turtles up onto the beach and then back in the water. They had it roped off so you couldn't disturb them (except with the camera, of course!).
...those were trial runs. Usually, they only actually lay at night (at least the ones I know), or when they feel it's safe/it's time/whatever.
